If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, but make
allowance for their doubting too; that’s the beginning of being whom YOU REALLY
ARE. Those are the words of none other than Jonathan Misoi, a young man who is
using his IT expertise in a way many envy. At age 32, Mr. Misoi Has
accomplished much more than an average man his age would even dare dream off. He
has completed his BSc. in Information
Sciences (Information Technology) from Moi University, proceeded to do a
masters degree in Computer Science (Web Information Systems) from Vrije University Brussels in Belgium and most importantly, he has
set up DigiTalk Technologies
LTD.
What does DigiTalk
Technologies do?
While Mr. Misoi says that he came up with the company to
empower and mentor youths to pursue careers in ICT and build businesses in the
industry, we cannot overlook the fact that the business has done much more than
put him on an international limelight. DigiTalk Technologies, the company at
the helm of which he sits as the lead consultant, provides ICT business
solutions and a variety of courses in IT.
Asked why he has such a drive towards IT, he says that he is
motivated by an inner urge to see youths in Kenya take ICT as a business. He
admits that his venture into this field has transformed his life in a way that
he will be forever happy with. This is the kind of transformation that he would
love to see youths in Kenya undergo. He actually conducts a series of
motivational talks across the country and beyond.
Mr. Misoi believes that there are 4 key areas in ICT around
which youths in Kenya can build serious business. He has put together and
published a book titled “ICT CAKE” that outlines and discusses these 4 key
areas. Would you like to know which career path to follow in the ICT sector and
learn much more about web technologies and ICT entrepreneurship? Then the book
you should be looking for is “ICT CAKE”.
Jonathan Misoi has overcome quite many challenges to get to
where he is today. He outlines the fact that technology changes very fast as
the major challenge people in his field face. You can develop an application
that is very relevant today just to have it rendered irrelevant in only 6
months. Nevertheless, ICT is sure the only sector that promises the greatest
future for the youths today.
